F1 World
Year made: 2024
Designed: logo, poster, magazine cover
F1 world was a personal speculative brief that I worked on, they are a startup fan magazine made by F1 fans for F1 fans. They have decided to create a fanzine to as a way to give back to older F1 fans as well as hoping to create new fans in the process.
Their core values are to give back to long standing fans of Formula one; to build and foster a positive community for old and new F1 fans to share their array of opinions.
In this speculative brief I was asked to create a magazine cover that could also be used as a poster, along with a simple typeface logo.

Poster/Magazine cover concept
The concept for this poster and magazine combo was to use the same image for both overall, this would ensure cohesion between the magazine cover and the promotional material. The connecting F1 to the letter W in the word, world type shows how this upstart company want to bring the community together. Lastly the orange and light blue colours were used to create recognisability as this is the livery the F1 team Mclaren are using in this season.

Logo Wordmark
For the typeface I decided on, this was a premade typeface called Racesport. I chose this typeface as it created a sleek modern look which I wanted to portray when the topic of the magazine is an ever evolving, technologically advanced like Formula One.
I also edited this typeface so the F1 would connect to the letter W. This was to create a graphically sound font without compromising the letter structuring. Also, this shows the sense of connection to the community that is in the brand's core values.

Colour Palette
For the colour palette I chose for this project I used the black and white colours to create a sleek professional look, I also used them as this allows the brighter more vibrant colours to pop out more letting these black and whites still shine as well but in a duller sense.
I used the Safety Orange and Medium Turquoise to extenuate the duller black and white text out. Another main reason is that these two colours are used on an F1 car's livery making it something a customer could easily recognise.
